This global award winning architecture and design practice is looking for an experienced Communications and PR Manager to join their busy team.
As part of the Communications team, you will play a vital part in the practice’s continued success and development. The Communications and PR Manager is responsible for managing all press and PR activity as well as associated marketing communications. The company work across a variety of sectors and have been responsible for some iconic architecture across the last few decades. Definitely a portfolio that would be a pleasure to represent.
Key duties include:
Press and public relations
- Fielding press enquiries and responding appropriately, in liaison with project leads and teams
- Devising and delivering project PR activity in collaboration with studio leads, project directors and teams, and in liaison with clients and PR consultants
- Managing the project PR timeline and programme in consultation with project leads
- Drafting and editing texts and quotes for a range of purposes, including press releases, news stories and project descriptions
- Supporting the Head of Communications in managing corporate PR and practice matters as required
- Liaising with the Website Coordinator to ensure news is shared on the website as appropriate
Digital communications
- Working with the Head of Communications and in liaison with the Website Coordinator and other team members to manage their online presence including social media
- Creating engaging, timely and appropriate website and social media posts in line with practice PR initiatives, including project milestones and non-project activity such as Partnerships, recruitment and ED&I
- Monitoring social media activity relevant to the practice and sharing with practice leaders as appropriate
Marketing communications
- Managing the production of project information packs, tour materials and other material to support communications and PR
- Managing their contribution to exhibitions including the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, and participation in professional organisations such as New London Architecture
- Overseeing awards strategy and production of awards entries by the Communications Coordinator
General
- Supporting the Head of Communications with team and budget management as required
- Deputising for the Head of Communications as required
Requirements
- Ability to respond promptly and appropriately to press enquiries, in liaison with project teams and mindful of confidentiality and client relationships
- Excellent written English, close attention to detail, and ability to write and edit appropriate texts for a range of different purposes
- Understanding of the UK and international media landscape, primarily in architectural media but also national and international press
- Understanding of social media (primarily Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn)
- Understanding of and strong interest in architecture and its role in our culture, society and communities
- Understanding of the life-cycle of architecture projects, and key milestones within them, as well as current issues in the profession and construction industry
Person skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with project teams, clients, consultants and journalists
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a busy and diverse team
- Ability to identify and manage priorities while remaining adaptable and flexible in the context of a large organisation
- Ability to work at a senior level, with appropriate judgement and discretion
